Well with January has come a Resolution of Sorts to lose weight. I have gained weight since I have started teaching. I think it has been a whole combination of things, new job stress, life stress etc. A lot of things have happened over the last three years and it I believe has all helped me to pack on the pounds. So I have decided to get back on the weight loss wagon that I have fallen off and start losing!!
I started weight watchers again, and I am hoping I can stick with it this time! my incentive and hopefully motivation is that I am getting married this summer and want to look HOTT!! : ) it's also time...I hate looking at my skinny pants in my closet ...I refuse to buy new pants..I have pants in there that I can wear if I lose 15 lbs...so here now you all can hold me to it. I will try and post how i am doing.
I lost 1 lb last week. Pretty sure this week is a write off as I am on having girl issues and eating everything in site.....but I will get back on the horse next week and be really careful again!! So hold me to it.....weight loss it is!!

Reformed Cat chaser???????????
As all of you know, I love my doggies...I am an animal lover till the end. I have collected strays and abused dogs....I am a softie really.
Nick tells me I can not save all of the neglected animals in the world, but I have helped a few!! haha But I don't think I will be allowed to adopt anymore pets!! : )
However all the hair, muddy paws, vet visits etc still can't change how entertaining, hilarious, and loving pets are!!
I was just laughing today cause my tough golden Cosmo has become great friends with our cat Orka. Orka is a 8.5 year old stray cat I found abandoned on the side of the road way back in 1999. She and her sister Bailey were about 4 weeks old, and looked like little rats as they were so young ( too young to be taken from their mother) They were obviously dumped by some jerk. I took these kitties in as I felt horrible for them, they stood little chance of survival. Nick needless to say was NOT impressed with the new kitties as he is not a fan of cats.However the cats are still kicking. these were the first animals I managed to take in!! Next was our dog Cosmo, he wasn't actually a stray we paid for him!! He was out first dog, and we had waited for a very long time to get him as we needed to have a house before we got a dog. So then we had three animals. After that we picked up our dog Molly, Nick and I got custody of her in my parents divorce as my Dad worked shift work and was unable to take care of her. And finally we recently acquired the lovely Angel sock eater extradorinare.....our hosue is full.
I must say though it is a lot of animals and a lot of cleaning, however the daily entertainment and amusement they give you makes it all worth while!!
I love the pets....as I mentioned my dog Cosmo has recently befriended our cat Orka, he used to chase her every chance he got, they now have some sort of a truce going?? Nick and I can't explain it, but i have a picture that says it all. cosmo's tough guy image is not ruined!!! He's a reformed cat chaser!!

When it Rains...IT POURS!
Well December has been a busy month......and already we are in 2008.
Nick and I have had an intersting couple of weeks, on boxing day or big freezer broke, I should mention that our freezer has right around half a cow in it. So the fact taht it stopped working really stressed Nick out.....I called the repairman to come and fix it, and he after looking at it for about 3 minutes informed me and I quote. " Ma'am....your freezer is terminal...." I was like HUH?? he said "I said it's terminal, done finished.....'...mmm excellent. I wasn't sure if I was annoyed that my freezer was kaput....or the fact that he called me MA'AM.....Ia m not old enough to be a ma'am??? am I ? well anyway I called Nick up with the stressedful news and he was not impressed.....yelled well go buy a new freaking one steph. Of course he was plowing at that moment and really didn't have time to talk. So off I went to get a new freezer. $ 400 dollars later I have a new freezer. If any of you will remember one of my first posts last year was about a freezer. You see Nick and I had an old freezer that never caused us any problems...it was like 20 years old I swear but worked very well... then nick's sister made us buy hers....if you are wondering how she made us buy it....please refer back to my post last April it will fill you in.
So our old freezer never stopped it was great. But we felt that since we had this new freezer we might as well use it as let it sit in the basement for 10 years. So we gave our old freezer away....big mistake. So we have been using this "new freezer" for about four months now.....so the old freezer we gave away....well it's still working....the new freezer we bought from Nick's sister......not working....?? so I might have a little bad luck.
So that's the first bad thing that happened....and it really wasn't that bad...I mean we got a new freezer...our meat didn't go bad...blah blah blah.....the second thing that happened....
Well you all know that in Novemeber Nick and I adopted a golden....she came to us injured. Well she healed up and seemed to be okay...however she re injured her leg on a walk Christmas eve. We have know learned from the vet that she has a torn ACL....that she had when we got her, but often the dog will heal it enough to walk without a limp but as soon as she runs hard...she will re injure it. So the only way to fix this is surgery....that costs about 1400$.....FUN TIMES...hahaha
But on the bright side...she can be fixed.....it will just be expensive!! :)
Thankfully my term at Dwight Ross has been extended until the end of the year....so I know I will be making a steady income!! hahah when it rains it pours!!!
2008 is going to be a very interesting year around our house, Nick and I are planning on getting married August 23 2008 so we are going to be quite busy between now and then!!! So lets hope i can get my butt in gear and get this wedding planned!!!!
