French land in 2..............and all that Jazz

Well I have not posted in about a million years....well maybe just two weeks, but it seems like forever.
This last two weeks has been a whirlwind....report cards, interviews, resumes....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....and people wonder why teachers DRINK!!

But I have survived and only popped one coldsore, yelled at Nick 5 times....cried 3 times.....and not done a load of laundry in a week........but here I am ....at the comp on the last day of school looking back and going....what a long strange trip this year has been!! But a wonderful journey!
I started at KDS back in October, and who would have thought I would have met such fabulous people!! Oh how I am going to miss the girls at Kingston!! I think all other schools are going to have a hard time stacking up against this wonderful school staff!! I would just like to say....to all you KDS ladies...I have had a wonderful time with you!! Thanks for making my first year with my own classroom FABBBBUUUULLLLOUSSSS!!! I will miss you all!! I hate goodbyes....so
I won't say anything else..... I already cried on the way home today ......and we all know Kingston to New Minas is a 30 minute drive.............in which I probably cried 28 minutes....hahah

Anyway, the job hunt is on....and I am willing to sweep floors if necessary!! I have had one interview...and another Sunday for core french grade 8&9.....keep all fingers and toes crossed!!!

Another bit of craziness.....I leave for Sainte Annes...Sunday......Frenchland HERE I COME!!
Sainte Annes is very intense......I will be there four weeks...and won't be speaking any English. :(
But I will have lots of time to drink and be merry!! Which I do very little of normally....but seem to do lots of at Sainte Annes!!! I will try to update the blog while i am down there......however since I am not allowed to do stuff in English on the comp....all blog entries will be dangerous missions!!! ( more reason to appreciate them!!) If i am caught doing English stuff, I will get an advertissment....( warning) three of those and i am OUT!! So.....I will do my best to have regualar updates! hahaha I will probably have to blog at about 3AM in the computer lab so those pesky French leaders don't catch me!!! :)
I hope all of you have a safe and happy summer..........xoxoxoxox Steph

New Appliance pics

The old appliances were HIDEOUS.....

The new ones are things of BEAUTY!! Although they are still standing side by side WHICH I hate....they eventually will be separated when we reno the rest of hte kitchen!!

Renos the good the bad....and the really really ugly!!!

Well after a long hiadius from blogging, I have decided to return.
The last few weeks have been very action packed. Nick was in yet another weddng, his eighth to be exact. ( he's a popular boy, or just a really good friend...who knows! : ) Our friends Ian and Melissa got married after 14 years dating....and if you do the math.....(they are 27 too)..they have been dating since grade eight....crazy!!! So the wedding was amazing....and everything went off without a hitch!!

Then I have been in a report card induced coma, between denial, distraction and avoidance needless to say the reports are not going well!!!

Another reason for my lack of blogging has just been laziness!! I mean wow, it's amazing how tired a teacher can get about this time of year!! I could sleep for a year...if given the oppertunity!! I mean I can't get out of my own way, and everyday with the kids is exhausting caues they too are ready for summer break, and they think I am crazy to even thing about squeezing one more fact into their brains!!

My final reason for not blogging is my house.....oh my little diamond in the rough of a house.....
well Nick and I have finally broken down and bought some appliances. We got them yesterday and let me tell you they are beauitful!! They are white, and I got a fridge and a stove with convection. ahhh soo exciting.
I told the delivery man that he had made my weekend......he made my month, he made my year...I think he might have though he should run....cause I was going to attack him......I was sooo super excited!! After he left...I danced around....doing of course my HAPPY DANCE!!!
I know a fridge and a stove are not that exciting....but seriously.....to be they are the bestest thign ever!! My kitchen is not that nice...and I have delt with sooo many thigns during the reno of this house that those appliances mean the word. I mean for the first 6 months of living here, we didn't have a stove cause we were rewiring the entire house and there wasn't an outlet for the stove. I finally told nIck that if he didn't get me a stove by January, he was going to suffer the consequences and the rath of STEPH...i got the stove Jan14.....hahaha.
We have also had orange carpet, cords running everywhere inorder to plug things in while they were rewiring hte house, we have had random holes in our walls, we have had gyproc everywhere, dust, dirt, dirty wrok men......oh we have had it all. And although it is not finished....the fridge and stove help to make me feel as thoguh the end is in sight.
In two years were will sell our little gem to pay off those lovely little things I call F*&%ing student loans, and I think I might actually be sad about it. I mean over the last three years yes I have asked Nick repeatly to burn the damn house down, but I guess it's kind of growing on me a little!!! Bizarre how things happen when you least expect it!!!
I am posting some pics of my house......it's still not done but it's getting there!! Slow and steady wins the race!!!

My love HATE affair with Apple Blossom!!!

Well this weekend yet another Apple Blossom came and went. It was a good time that started out with a lovely long walk down to the Fire Works. As a local girl I know all the tricks of the Apple Blossom trade. And getting around town and avoiding long car lineups to get out of town is just one of my lovely apple blossom aquired tricks.

And so I was off with Nick and my bud Mary heading to the Fire works.....Apple Blossom is all about the walking, and I walked a LOT this weekend!!
The fireworks were great, slightly smokey at times.....but hey you set things on fire and shoot them out ...and chances are there'll be smoke!!
After the fire works display, we headed back to our favorite Apple Blossom weekend pub aka. Kings Arms Pub . Well as usual on the walk back to the pub, we had to see the lovely drunken teens that always seem to have a few drinks of liquid courage, and then decide they want to fight. And Friday night was NO EXCEPTION....as we walked this young guy....16-17 ish...was yelling at another kid. And of course eventually the druken boys had to fight....I think they got out one punch, and voila it was over, of course the male that felt he won the fight had to slam his fist on a road sigh to assert is male pride. I said to Nick and Mar, wow....not only is his head going to hurt tomorrow, so is his hand. And then said a silent prayer, hoping he'd get sent to the drunk tank!!!! Haha gotta love the VALLEY!! Once at the kings Arms things picked up and we retired to a booth for a few coolies! It was great fun....and the band that was playing was awesome too.
The best part about coming to Apple Blossom is seeing people you haven't seen in years, or atleast since last year at Apple Blossom!!! As a local you always go to the Kings Arms pub Saturday to take in the festivities, and so about 2pm on Sat, we walked in to check out the parade and see all our friends at the pub!!!

It was a great day, everyone was happy the sun was shining. But still, even a few of the people I went to high school with ended up getting thrown in the drunk tank by the end of the day!! oh my.....

After hanging out at the Pub for a while, and chattting, we decided to head home to BBQ!!

It was great fun, and we ended up having a lovely shed party in our garage!! ( mainly because a few of the people smoke, and I refuse to have cigarette smoke in my house!! haha) at about 3am, we had a pizza delivered to our garage ( I told the pizza guy I had a strage request, and he said....yep delivery to a garage is a bit strange, but it all worked out at pizza was there by 3:30!!)I think the shed party was the best part of the day, as we had our friend from NFLD singing on the guitar, and we were all just chatting. I saw my friend Scott whom I havent seen in 5 years!! And the whole gang was back together again!!! What a great time!
